Plea for Grace July 21, 2022

Psalm 21:1, 13 ESV - To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
1 O LORD, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults! ...
13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.

What relief David must have felt when he was finally installed as king. No more running from Saul; no more hiding in rocks and caves. However, it was in those rocks and caves, when capture and death were just a few steps away, that David saw God’s strength. He knew that it was God who sustained him. He knew that God was his refuge. He knew that God was his very present help in trouble . . . Heavenly Father, help me to remember that it is Your strength and Your mercy that sustains me. You are truly my salvation. I have no hope but in You.
